Blood sample tubes. These are S-Monovette sample tubes that combine a tube and a syringe. A needle can attached to the coloured lids to draw a blood sample. The lids are colour-coded according to different haematological tests or the content of the tube. Pink tubes, for example, contain EDTA (ethylenediamine tetra-acetic acid), an anti- coagulant that stops blood from clotting before tests can be carried out on it, while orange tubes are for trace metal analysis.
