1978 Lealholm. Lealholm is a small village in the Glaisdale civil parish of the Borough of Scarborough, in North Yorkshire, England. Local men playing Quoits by throwing metal rings at a metal spike. This game is played on the village green opposite the local pub The Board. There are many active Quoits leagues in Yorkshire. Quoits is a traditional game which involves the throwing of metal, rope or rubber rings over a set distance, usually to land over or near a spike (sometimes called a hob, mott or pin).
