The mail boat is an economical and rustic way to travel to the outer islands which are all covered by service out of Nassau In earlier days the mail boat was the only means to transport mail produce and livestock throughout the islands It is still used mainly to transport the latter two in addition to passengers and vehicles and sailings depend on the weather The local Mail Boat The Fiesta provides service between Nassau and Grand Bahama Island four times a week and the trip takes six to seven hours depending on the weather
