GRANITE AND PEGMATITE INTRUSIVES These acid intrusives are the youngest rocks in the area, and have been found atseveral places, including the following: (1) At the northeast end of Madawaska (UpperTrout) lake a coarse-grained, massive granite, showing at times a well-developedgraphic texture, cuts the crystalline limestone, (2) A few hundred yards northeast ofOmpah post office a coarse-grained, granite-pegmatite cuts diagonally across the strikeof the gneiss and limestone.
