CAVERN OF THE HOT SPRINGS. 9 The attractions of the district, without in anyway rivalling the American Yellowstone NationalPark, consist, in addition to the mountain scenery,which is remarkable, of two sets of warm springsand of some falls or rapids of the Bow river. Themore elevated of the springs command a wideview, while the lower ones are more curious incharacter. The largest is entirely subterranean, ina dome-shaped cavern which one enters by meansof a ladder from the summit. On the floor is apodl with a sandy bottom through which the warmwaters bubble up. When ones eyes get accustomedto the gloom it can be seen that the water makesits exit as mysteriously as it entered.
