This farm is built in usual style of the North Holland Dairy farms,and is under the management of a society formed for this purpose, whichreceives the necessary funds to cover the costs of experiments from theGovernment. This farm is for all purposes at the disposal of the Agri-cultural Experimental Station. 30 Milch cows are kept, the milk of which is worked into Edam experiments have been made here including those concerning theprocess of cheese ripening the use of pure cultures, the defects in cheese,the methods of feeding etc. 42. 43 The State-High-Agricultural-, Morticultural- AND FORESTRYSCHOOL AT WaGENINGEN. The first object of this Institute is to form scientific agricultural-,horticultural- and forestry experts and agricultural chemists. It opens theopportunity for the sons of great landowners, well-to-do farmers, andlarge nurserymen to be scientifically educated and to acquire such knowledgeof agriculture, horticulture and forestry as will be essential for their futureposition in society. The school serves further for the education of suchmen as are required by the State, companies or individuals, to look afterthe interests of and to study agriculture in its widest sense, such as agri-cultural instructors, horticultural instructors, teachers for agricultural- andhorticultural schools, dairy instructors, assislents, chemists and agriculturistsfor the Agricultural Experimental stations
