Wearable computer. MicroOptical device projecting a display on to researcher Thad Starner's eye. It is projecting a display screen from his computer. Starner uses a hand-held keyboard to access data and diary functions. He has worn versions of his computer since 1993. He pioneered wearable computers at MIT and now works at Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. Wearable technology aims to develop and integrate computing and mobile phone technology, to design new interfaces, and to miniaturize the devices so that they are worn as naturally as a watch is today.
