Suliven and Canisp Mountains in the Heart of Assynt, in Sutherland. North West Scotland. XPL 3849-368

Elphin is located in Sutherland in the far north-west of Scotland, and is surrounded by the sandstone mountain peaks of Canisp, Suilven andCul Mor, with the Munros of Conival and Ben More Assynt beyond. A walker’s paradise, climbers of all ages and abilities are spoilt for choice here. Assynt’s dramatic mountains are popular with mountaineers and climbers, whilst the long coastline and sandy beaches offer a host of less strenuous walks. Assynt is also a great place to view Scottish wildlife in its natural habitat, including seals, puffins, deer, eagles and whales.
