The Bloodhound SCC project began some time ago with a view to breaking the world land speed record. The car is now based at Cornwall Newquay airport for testing and a public run in late October where they hope to achieve a speed of around 200mph. Then in 2018 they will head to South Africa where they hope the Bloodhound SCC powered by a rocket and Typhoon jet engine will break the land speed record at around 1000mph.
