The illustration shows a single squa-sh, while the bush-like habit of growth is exactly the same as the old variety. This is a distinct typeof Bush Squash ; the plants grow very compact and uniform in height and the vines do not run. The squashes are oblong in shape, green and white striped. A remark- able fi'ature of this variety is that the little green squashes when still very , only two to four inches long, are most delicious in flavor. They oan either be boiled whole or sliced and fried like egg plant, and to our taste are nearly, if not quite, e<|ual in flavor, while, of course, thev are more raised.
