ST. CROIX, Virgin Islands (Sept. 21, 2017) Naval Aircrewman (Helicopter) 1st Class Erick Sotelo, assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 22) embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), assesses damage during relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Maria. The Department of Defense is supporting Federal Emergency Management Agency, the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
