The Appalachian Mountain Club maintains mountain hiking and walking trails throughout the northeastern USA in the Appalachian range of Mountains. This is particularly so in the state of New Hampshire where it is heavily invested in the White Mountain National Forest. One of its major investments is the Highland Center at Crawford Notch, the site of the historic grand Crawford House Hotel where recreational use of the White Mountains was founded.
