Due to jealousy over a woman, Captain Richard Hill and Charles Mohun, 4th Baron Mohun, ambushed William Mountfort an actor and dramatic writer, in Howard Street, Strand, London on 9 December 1692. During the struggle Mountfort was stabbed in the chest by Hill and died of his wounds the following day.
