Bull moose with antlers in velvet in a willow thicket
A lone bull moose browses on willow shrubs on a summer evening. Although he was fully aware of the photographer, he was not being bothered and continued eating. Moose (also called elk in Europe) are the largest species of deer. Bull moose are territorial and can become aggressive, especially during the fall rut, or mating season.
