Rhombus shaped Globo de Cantolla (hot air paper balloon) with confetti in San Agustin Ohtenco, Mexico
Cantolla balloons are hot air paper balloons named in honor of Joaquin de la Cantolla,the first Mexican who flew in a hot air balloon during the XIX century. During the day of the dead the inhabitants of San Agustin Ohtenco, a town south of Mexico city, organize a hot air paper balloon exhibition and contest. There are different categories, the most simple balloons are made with just a few paper sheets. The biggests can be as big as a normal hot air balloon and are made with thousands of paper sheets.
