MARINE CORPS TRAINING AREA BELLOWS, HAWAII – Cpl. Josef Schwartz, an assistant squad leader with Company B., Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit take up defensive positions inside a cleared building during a raid part of Sustainment Exercise, July 12, 2017. SUSTEX is the MEU’s first exercise since deploying building on and honing the skills they sharpened during their work up training. The 15th MEU and America Amphibious Ready Group Team are deployed as a crisis response and contingency force in support of fleet and combatant commanders.
