For the main flow and return pipes use 3-inch, tak- ing off the three IVb-inch flows at some point near the end of the green- house, and connecting each of the coils with the 3-inch return main by means of 1%-inch pipes. In order to secure good results with small pipe for heating greenhouses, it will be advisable to use a generator, connecting it to the expansion pipe, which should lead from the highest part of the main flow pipe. From this point all of the pipes should be put in so that they will have a slight fall, which will not only give a better cir- culation than when the flow pipe runs up-hill, but will do away with all oc- casion for using air valves. It will be well to put in one gate or angle valve on each flow pipe, at some con- venient point. DETROIT. The Market. All previous records were broken by this Easter business. The first part of the week it looked rather gloomy and the sales for this period probably will run behind those of last year. Friday morning we were visited by the most severe wind storm in forty years. The wind attained a velocity of eighty miles an hour and business was practically at a standstill. Saturday business be- gan unusually early and many of the stores found it necessary to lock their doors at times in order to catch up with the orders.
