The Bottle House is an eye-catching building in a “living” ghost town called Calico, a mining camp that yielded more than $20 million worth of silver during the late 1800s in Southern California, USA. The Bottle House was constructed with more than 5,000 bottles because whiskey bottles were plentiful in mining towns. This rough-and-tough community once boasted 3,500 residents and 22 saloons, but it was deserted after the silver ore ran out. Only five original buildings still existed when historical restoration of this Old West town began in 1951.
