A splendid court hunting hanger, Frankfurt, circa 1840. A single-edged blade with fullers on both sides and a double-edged point. The upper half has gilded etched decoration on a blued background. The manufacturer's inscription "Jacob Glauth Schwerdfeger in Frfrt a/M" is on the back of the blade. Fire gilt brass knucklebow hilt. Guard plate has embossed oak leaf decoration. Checkered ebonised wood grip with the cypher "A" (Adolf I, Duke of Nassau 1839 - 1861) on the obverse side. Black leather scabbard (repair at the lower end) with brass fittings worked en sui,
