A splendid court hunting hanger, Frankfurt, circa 1840. A single-edged blade with fullers on both sides and a double-edged point. The upper half has gilded etched decoration on a blued background. The manufacturer's inscription "Jacob Glauth Schwerdfeger in Frfrt a/M" is on the back of the blade. Fire gilt brass knucklebow hilt. Guard plate has embossed oak leaf decoration.
