The medieval stone walled town, inhabited since 308 BC, is one of the most well preserved classic walled settlements in Portugal. With a current population of over 3,000 is 100km north of the Portuguese capital, Lisbon, on the Atlantic coast. Óbidos has become one of Portugal’s top tourist destinations.
