The captains, Correa tells us, paid littleattention to this, being occupied with the profits result-ing from the sale and embarkation of the goods whichthey had to convey to Portugal. ^ Magellan, we know, did not belong either actually orin spirit to such men as these, and although we do notfind him mentioned by name in Correas list of the valentes caualleiros who accompanied Albuquerque inthis expedition, he may well have come under the headof the outros caualleiros honrados who were Viceroy arrived off Goa on the 24th fleet consisted of thirty-four sail, which carriedfifteen hundred Portuguese
