Students were given yellow ribbons to hang in front of the school until their parent returns from deployment. Parents and volunteers helped setup this event to acknowledge and honor the children who have family members in the military. April is national month of the military child and this month of awareness was established to recognize the children play in the Armed Forces community. Military parents went to classrooms putting leis on children, thanking them for supporting their family members in the Armed Services. The school had an assembly honoring the children and hosted the Marine Forces, Pacific Party Band.
