Homecoming of the Liberated. This French family, typical of thousands in the provinces of Southern France, comes home as the irresistible push of Allied forces drives the German intruder back toward the Teuton border. Pictured by a Coast Guard combat photographer who went in with the invaders, this family has suffered all the hardships of the conquered French and returns to a home which had been occupied by Germans prior to D-Day and which was left in near-destruction.
