NAVAL BASE KITSAP-BREMERTON, Wash. (Aug. 3, 2016) - Machinist's Mate 2nd Class Nicholas Hicks, a native of Burkeville, Texas, examines a sample of 80W-90 gear oil during routine maintenance on board USS Nimitz (CVN 68). Nimitz is currently undergoing an extended planned incremental maintenance availability at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility where the ship is receiving scheduled maintenance and upgrades.
