The river Havel, Berlin, Germany along the Havelchaussee
The Havel is a river in north-eastern Germany, flowing through the German states of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Brandenburg, Berlin and Saxony-Anhalt. It is a tributary of the Elbe river and 325 km (202 miles) in length. For much of its length, the Havel is navigable, and it provides an important link in the waterway connections between the east and west of Germany, and beyond. This section is in Berlin and popular with bathers.
