The Johnson Drugstore-Pharmacy (Drogeria Johnson) is a time-warped drug store/museum, fitted and furnished with its original furnishings and glass and porcelain dispensing bottles lining the shelves as it was when the store first opened in 1914 in the popular tourist street of Obispo in the old quarter of Havana, Cuba. Dr Manuel Serafin Johnson Larralde founded the pharmacy. He was a Doctor of Pharmacy and Professor at the University of Havana. DR. Johnson's four of the five children followed their father to become pharmacists themselves. After the Cuban revolution in 1959, the store was nationalised in 1960, forcing the family to move to North America. In 2000 the Pharmacy was restored, but in 2006 a fire damaged the premises. In 2012, it was faithfully restored and once again the Pharmacy opened its doors to serve the public with its limited medical supplies.
