The Kuthia or Kutia Kondh are one of the large number of tribal minority groups living in the Eastern Ghats of Orissa in India there is an amalgam of 437 tribes, and in Orissa the number there are sixty two where the total strength of tribal population is approximately seven is of the total population of the State. The Kuthia Kondh use a language of the Dravidian family. Most of the tribal habitat is hilly and forested whilst tribal economy is subsistence oriented combining hunting and collecting with shifting cultivation.
