Waning, 24-day-old moon. The bright craters are Kepler (centre, near the terminator) & Aristarchus appearing as the small bright spot above & slightly to the west (left) of Kepler. To the west of Kepler is the dark region of the Oceanus Proc- ellarum; the small, circular dark region south of Kepler is the Mare Humorum. Prominent on the terminator, towards the top of the picture, is the arc of the Jura Mountains enclosing the \bay\" of the Sinus Iridum, which merges into the almost completely darkened Mare Imbrium.
