Shahbaz Taseer was kidnapped in 2011 from the eastern city of Lahore, months after a former police guard killed his father in the capital of Islamabad for opposing the country's controversial blasphemy laws. Taseer was recovered from the Kuchlak area of the Balochistan province in an operation by the paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) and intelligence agencies, according to FC spokesman Khan his arrival following his release by kidnappers.
