Native woman in a traditionally decorated bedroom, Baghou Village, Kish Island, Iran

Native woman in traditional attire, Baghou (aka Baghoo) Village, Kish Island, Iran. Kish Island is a coral island located in the Persian Gulf off the south coast of Iran. Although Kish Island is primarily a tourist destination these days, it has been settled for around 3000 years, and was known since ancient times as a good source of fresh ('sweet') water. The village of Bagou is populated by a few families of native Kish Islanders who seem to have a culture related to the Omani Bedouins.
