180402-N-TJ319-0309 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (April 2, 2018) Landing Craft Unit (LCU) 1656 departs the well deck of the Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship USS Oak Hill (LSD 51) with two M1A1 Abrams tanks onboard April 2, 2018, in preparation to begin Alligator Dagger. Led by Naval Amphibious Force, Task Force 51/5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade, Alligator Dagger integrates Navy and Marine Corps assets to practice and rehearse a range of critical combat-related capabilities available to Central Command both afloat and ashore to promote stability and security in the region.
