Red Polished Rock eroded by Perito Moreno Glacier, Parque Nacional Los Glaciares, Santa Cruz, Patagonia, Argentina

Perito Moreno glacier is located into the Glaciers National Park (50°32' S, 73°10'W) and belongs to the Southern Patagonia Icefield (third largest ice mass in the world). This glacier is not retreating as, unfortunately, most others are doing. Its dimensions are 5km wide, front walls are more than 60 meters high and occupies an area of almost 250 square kilometers. It was named in honor to Francisco Pascasio Moreno, explorer, adventurer and father of the argentine national park system. The area was included into the Unesco World Heritage in 1981.
