Excised parotid tumour. This parotid gland and tumour was removed from a 65-year-old woman's head. The parotid is a salivary gland (one either side of the head) located adjacent to each ear. Subsequent histological examination of the tumour (an adenoma) revealed that it was undergoing changes that indicated it might have turned cancerous at some later point.
