Dinosaur injuries and infections. Cartoon illustration of sick dinosaurs in a medical waiting room with examples of injuries, lesions and infections that have been identified in studies of dinosaur fossils. Examples (from right to left) include blows and infections in the crest of a Triceratops, buccal (cheek) infections in a Tyrannosaurus rex skull, fractures of the front leg of a Hadrosaurus, fractures of the back leg of a Spinosaurus, and an infection in the tail (far right) of a Diplodocus (head at far left). Diplodocus dates from the Late Jurassic. The other dinosaurs date from the Late Cretaceous.
