Speech therapy. Mirror image of a man with dysarthria practising producing sounds during a session with a speech therapist. He is using a mirror to see the shapes his mouth takes on when producing certain sounds. Speech therapy can help many people with speech or language problems. Dysarthria is a condition in which the patient has problems articulating words due to impairment of the muscles used in speech. This impairment may be due to damage to the central or peripheral nervous system, following an accident or as a symptom of certain diseases.
