A helmet for officers, of the artillery, circa 1840, nearly identical to the Bavarian model 1832. Leather skull with brass protective bars, defensive chains, and brow band with oak leaf decoration in relief (small crack). Crowned, oval emblem bearing a superimposed cipher "W". Officer-type chinscales on lion head bosses, buckle tongue torn off. Plume socket, sheep leather lining.
