Coarse and fresh manure will cause the roots to grow ill-shaped. Sow early in the spring, in drills a foot or more apart, covering theseed not more than two inches in depth. Thin out to six inches apart. Aportion of the crop may remain in the ground all winter, like the Parsnip. Oneounce will sow 75 feet of drill. White French. The old favorite variety.
