Sheep resting beneath Big Water of Fleet Viaduct near Gatehouse of Fleet, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland

This disused viaduct was used in the 1935 Alfred Hitchcock adaptation of John Buchan's The 39 Steps and the BBC's Lord Peter Wimsey series - Five Red Herrings. The stone arches were reinforced with brickwork in the Second World War to cope with munitions traffic and the line was closed in 1965 as part of the Beeching cuts.
