Mold for Bes-image Amulet, New Kingdom, Dynasty 18, ca. 1390–1353 , From Egypt, Upper Egypt, Thebes, Malqata, S. Magazines or Factories, 1910–12, Pottery, H. × W. × D. cm (1 11/16 × 1 1/4 × 9/16 in.), This mold was used to make an amulet in the form of the Bes-image, either to be worn or for decoration in one of the palaces of Amenhotep III at his festival city of Malqata. Remnants of paste used to make the faience amulet can be seen in its crevices
