Illustration of a centrosome, an organelle from a eukaryotic cell. A centrosome is made up of two centrioles (orange) at right angles to each other. The centrioles are formed from the protein tubulin. Centrosomes are involved in assembling the spindle that pulls cells apart during mitosis (nuclear division), the separating of the daughter cells after nuclear division and the production of cilia and flagella.
