Mr. Graburn served an apprenticeshipwith the Canadian Pacific Railway as a mechanical engineer from1881 to 1887, when he joined the Edison Illuminating Company,of Brooklyn, where he secured a practical training in electriclighting. He remained with that company until 1889, when hewent to the Thomson-Houston works at Lynn, Mass., to take astudents course in electric railway work.
