MacDill Air Force Base (AFB) is a base of the United States Air Force in Hillsborough County, Florida, 8 miles south of Downtown Tampa at the tip of the Interbay Peninsula. An airshow is an event at which aviators display their flying skills and the capabilities of their flying machines to the crowd. Airshows without aerobatic displays, with only aircraft displayed parked on the ground, are called static airshows. The United States Navy's Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, popularly known as the Blue Angels, was formed in 1946 and is the world's first officially sanctioned military aerial demonstration team.
