He was born,December 5, 1850, at Cazenovia, W^s. Hisfather, Charles Byron Swift, was a came from Ohio to Wisconsin in 1856,thus constituting himself one of the pioneersof the state. He was a member of CompanyF, Third Wisconsin cavalry during the CivilWar, and was in fair financial maiden name of Lee Swifts mother wasCaroline A. Huntly.
