He captured the varied beauty of the contiguous 48 states as well as Canada, including the maritime provinces, throughout his 40+ year career as a stock photographer. HISTORY OF PHOTO This photo was taken between 1960-1965 when the South Park & Sunset Railroad ran excursion steam train rides in Northwest Oregon. This railroad is now a rail trail called the Banks-Vernonia State Trail. It was the first as part of Oregon state's Rails to Trails program.
