The waters of this fountain have not heenanalyzed, hut they helong to the great Sulphurclass, so abundantly found in that geologicalregion, and, doubtless, will prove valuable in suchcases as are usually successfully treated by mildSulphur waters. Their situation is in a wild, romantic andinteresting mountain region, affording fine facili-ties for the sportsman in the amusements ofhunting and fishing. They are in the immediateneighborhood of the celebrated Salt Pond, aninteresting natural curiosity itself, and wheresurrounding mountain heights afford the mostextensive and imposing mountain scenery inAmerica. These Springs may be reached by stage or ■*~*M. BLUE SULPHUR SPRING. 225 private conveyance from the Virginia andTennessee Railroad, at Newbern or Christiansburg,or from the Bed, Salt, or Montgomery WhiteSulphur Springs. THE BLUE SULPHUR SPRING. Twenty-three miles west from the White Sul-phur, and for several years a well improved andpopular watering place, has been discontinued assuch. Several years before the war its elegantbuildings were appropriated to the use of a Bap-tist College; and during the war, they were allburned. The water of this spring is very good, partakingof the general characteristics of the leading sul-phur waters of West Virginia.
