On the 2d day of August, 1876, Wild Bill was inLewis & Manns saloon, playing a game of pokerwith Capt. Massey, a Missouri river pilot, CharleyRich, and Cool Mann, one of the proprietors of thesaloon. The bullet enteredthe base of the brain, tore through the head,and made its exit at the right cheek, betweenthe upper and lower jaw-bones, breaking off severalteeth and carrying away a large piece of thecerebellum through the wound.
