Half Long Blood. This is an entirely distinct variety and by far the best for winter use. The deep red roots are very symmetrical, two or three times as long as thick and always smooth and handsome. The flesh is rich dark red, very sweet, crisp and tender, never becoming woody, even in portions above the ground and retains its good quality longer than other sorts. Long smooth, growing to good size; half out of the ground; color dark blood red; top small, dark red. of upright growth, keeps well. Pkt. 5c, oz. 10c, y4m. 20c, lb. 50c SUGAR BEETS AND MANGEL WURZELS. The Sugar and Mangel Wurzel varieties are grown for feeding stock. Sow in April or May in drills two and one-half feet apart and afterward thin out to stand vone foot apart in the rows; £ keep well cultivated. One v i> ounce will sow a drill 50 xNv feet in length; five or six pounds are required for an acre. Golden Tankard. A superior strain of golden fleshed mangel; roots half long and very large.
