The District Council invite applications for the appoint-ment of a Snrvpyor and Inspector of Nnisances. The district comprises an area of 230 acres, a populationof 17,20(1 and about 2,430 houses, and is fully developed. The duties will be those ordinaiily required from a sur-veyor and inspector of nuisances to an urban sanitaryauthority. All applicants must satisfy the Council that they are ac-quainted with the duties of those offices, and must hold thecertiiicate of the Sanitary Institute. The salary will be as Surveyor £175, per annum, with resi-dence; and as Inspector of Nnisances, £75 per annum, makingtogether £ a year. Applications, endorsed Surveyorship, stating age andqualifications, with particulars of previous experience, andenclosing copies of not more than three recent testimonials,must be received here not later than 5 oclock on the17th of August next
