For the first two years of its existencebusiness was conducted in this church basement and depositsreceived every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday were no cashiers, tellers or clerks in those days. Thetrustees of the bank themselves attended to all the affairs ofthe institution. The necessary expenses of opening, including the cost offurniture, books and stationery, advertising, rent, fuel andother current expenses, were all earned and liquidated fromthe profits of the first eighteen months of operat
