MCAS FUTENMA, OKINAWA, Japan— An aviation helmet sits inside a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter June 16 on Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan. The helmet consists of headphones and a microphone, for communication, cranial protection and eye protection. The gear belongs to Staff Sgt. Jahbari H. Codes, an aviation operations chief with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 462, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, currently assigned to 1st Marine Aircraft Wing under the unit deployment program.
